National Apprenticeship Week runs from 6 to 10 March and brings together employers and apprentices from across England to celebrate the success of apprenticeships over the last decade. The week will also aim to encourage more employers to take on apprentices and individuals to choose an apprenticeship as a ladder of opportunity to a great career.

Hundreds of events will be taking place across the country during National Apprenticeship Week to spread the word about the benefits of apprenticeships for young people, employers and the economy. Using the online events map to track all of the exciting activity happening during National Apprenticeship Week so you can see what is happening near you.
Here are a few of the great events and activities that have already taken place this week:
The launch event for NAW2017 went really well, with Education Secretary Justine Greening addressing an audience of almost 100 apprentices and employers attending the launch at Barclays at Canary Wharf.
Two inspirational apprentices from Barclays gave an account of their apprenticeship journey, alongside Lucy Wilkins – a 10 year on case study from Somerset County Council – and Chris Achiampong from IBM (and star of the Get In Go Far campaign), as well as National Apprenticeship Service director Sue Husband.
Royal Mail is supporting the Week with a special postmark, which will be applied to millions of items of UK stamped mail nationwide. The postmark will appear on stamped mail between Monday 6 and Friday 10 March.

Sanctuary Housing is celebrating #NAW2017 with its current cohort of apprentices – Sanctuary has recruited over 1300 apprentices since 2009!
The Big Assembly webinar giving those registered the opportunity to hear from apprentices, employers and Minister for Skills, Robert Halfon on apprenticeships and what they mean to apprentices and employers alike.
The webinar was a huge success, with 10,000 individuals taking part.
2000 unique registrations were made, so unfortunately this wasn’t a record-breaking attempt but it was a hugely successful event.
Lovell Homes are celebrating their older apprentices during National Apprenticeship Week 2017 with Paul who is 51, dad of 3 and grandad of 4, and now an apprentice bricklayer!
RAF Apprentice of the Year Awards at RAF Honington, where Sue Husband presented awards along with David Hill and Mike Penning MP, Minister for the Armed Forces to some of the highest performing soldier apprentices who have recently qualified in their field.
